In 2009, when studying education, I watched a video on TED featuring a speech by Sir Ken Robinson. I’m going to assume most of you know who he is but if you don’t, his website is here. You can watch the video HERE - it’s the best 20 minutes you’ll ever spend. I was mesmerised and re-watch this regularly. He is BRILLIANT and his views on the importance of creativity make you want to stand up and cheer.
So here I am, sitting at the airport on the Gold Coast, waiting to fly home when I came across his new book: The Element. I’ve heard this is a pretty spectacular book so I just bought it. Stay tuned, as it is likely to be life changing for me, which obviously will be wonderful for made’n’found - everything he says/writes is inspiring. If you haven’t acquainted yourself with this wonderful man, please do - and he’s on Twitter, too!

the week ahead is going to be chaotic and exciting! I have spent the past few days practising screenprinting and I am having huge fun with that. I’ve got more magnets ready and making lots of fun books for people to use as a journal - written or art, you decide! There will be lots of photos to come - I keep promising that but I want to launch in a big way and that will happen at the end of this week. I’ve got canvasses, digital prints, Zentangles and more!
We are making our market debut next weekend at Yarraville Market (a month ahead of schedule but when you dive into the pool, you have to dive into the deep end!). If you are in Melbourne please come along - there are several gorgeous stallholders there and, as you know, made’n’found is primarily about supporting and promoting ALL Australian handmade art and craft (it is true, though, that we hope you love OUR stuff too!).
I thank you all for your continued support and encouragement - it has been amazing! We have a Facebook fanpage which we’d love you to “like” - jump on board!
